About The Birth Roots Logo

At the centre of the Birth Roots logo is the childbearing mother, supported by her partner or family member. Both the mother and her loved one are cocooned in the caring and experienced support of their doula.

Also represented in our logo are the roots of a tree. These roots represent not only the roots of childbearing (in which women were always surrounded by the support of other women), but they also represent the strength created through the combined efforts of the mother, her loved ones, and her doula.

This logo was created by Tara Laba in 2000.
