Birth Doula Training
If you want to become a doula, the DONA approved Birth Doula training is where you begin.
If you would like to see a DONA Doula Workshop offered in your community, please get in touch with Birth Roots at (204) 792-6769. The training will be offered for free to the organizer in the community. Cost of the training may differ based on expenses and travel for instructors to your community.

This training is an interactive course that will help prepare you to become a doula. Whether you want to support a friend throughout the birth process or make a career choice, this course is for you!
There is continued community and mentorship after this course!
This training is one step towards certification with DONA International. With the high level of recognized training and the knowledge of what it is like to be a doula in Manitoba, this training will leave you with knowledge and inspire you to make a difference in the lives of childbearing women. Class Details:
Doulas role – with families and caregivers
Basic understanding of physiology and anatomy of birth
Basic understanding of labour progress
Labour support- emotional and physical
Comfort measures practice
Current medical birth practices
Doula business aspects
DONA standards of practice and codes of ethics, certification process
Prenatal class component for certification

Due to Covid-19, the birth doula workshops will be offered virtually until further notice.
This workshop will grant you three certificates (required for DONA Certification): Introduction to Childbirth, Birth Doula Training and Introduction to Breastfeeding.

$650 +GST
$675 + GST for any the registration if payment is broken up in 2 or more payment * at anytime *. Contact us to arrange this option.
*Refund Policy* There will be no refunds for this course. If you would like to transfer your registration to the next training there will be a $50 fee.

Scholarships
Birth Roots Doula Collective is committed to growing the doula profession and increasing access to under-resourced communities.
Workshop scholarships are offered based on a demonstrated commitment to community service and financial need.
Priority is given to all applicants who increase diversity in the doula profession, specifically people identifying as LGBTQ and BIPOC (Black, Indiginous, People of Color.
